Hiatus

Note from Aurora

As I have mentioned on a variety of platforms, I have to move soon. This makes me sad, but there's nothing to be done about it.

I am moving from Washington State all the way back to Maryland. If you're not familiar with US geography, let me assure you that this is a Big Deal. You can get further away while staying in the country, but it's hard. It's over 2,500 miles, or 4000-something kilometers. So, not a short move.

As you can imagine, this is a disruptive thing to have to do. It's still three months out, but I already need to be keeping it in mind when deciding what to do with every single day.

I had wanted to finish my serial, get a rough draft of my new curling novel, get my son to a good stopping point in home-school, and organize the house enough for strangers to come in and box up my belongings to lug them across the continent.

I still have three months, but I'm afraid these tasks would amount to a month apiece. Which means I have to cut one.

Therefore, I am making the call that we've reached a decent break-point for the serial.

Yes, I know I left you with a cliffhanger. But looking at the overall plot, this is a turning point, and stopping a few entries later would be less even.

Therefore, Washed Up is on official hiatus until after my rough of Much Ado About Curling is finished. (It must be finished before I move so people can beta it while I'm not in a position to work on it anyway.)

It is my goal to resume posting around the Equinox. (That's mid-April.) I'm only one entry ahead right now, due to spending the last fortnight suffering through a virus rather than concentrating on the story like my schedule said I was supposed to do, but I'm hopeful that by then I'll be able to start up again.

Sorry for the break. Thanks for putting up with me. :)
